Week 8
The most beneficial exercises were meditations and subtle mind. Subtle mind was the hardest but once I got the hang of it, I can finally quiet my thoughts. During the day they just become overwhelming. Meditations are a great way for me to relax and I am a type AB personality. I can be mellow and at times intense, so meditation makes me control my intense days better. I need to implement these practices in my life to better foster "mental fitness". The how is finding time to do the practices. With school, work, household and sports I am often limited. However my goal is to start setting aside more time to work on my "mental fitness". The best time for me is before I fall asleep. Its helps me de-stress and fall asleep faster when I do my meditation.

Andrea,
ReplyDeleteI think for me the best time to mediate is before bed too! I feel likes it the only time I have to relax and focus on myself. A quiet place and a comfortable spot helps me to connect on a deeper level before bed. I think that I also sleep better if I have a few minutes to focus on a peaceful and subtle mind. Besides at bedtime do u have any other place you feel comfortable to meditate? And with your busy schedule, I need some advice with my busy work days. Good blog this week, way to sum it all up, it was a challenge for me too.
So happy to hear that the meditations work for you. I think it is pretty cool how meditation can help us control our thoughts and feelings. Practicing at night is good. I can see how it would let you relax and let go of all the stress you gathered in your day. I like it in the morning also because I will co about my day more peacefully. I think my kids and husband would appreciate that. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou think maybe twice a day would be better? Relax yourself to take on the day and get rid of the stress that snuck in throughout the day at night? I think so.
